HBO Now, Crackle, and a bunch of features come to video discovery app MightyTV

Earlier this year, we took a look at MightyTV, a video discovery app that took cues from Tinder by allowing its users to swipe their way through TV and movie recommendations in order to easily find something to watch. Once something was found, the app made it easy to cast the viewer’s choice to their TV.

While MightyTV launched with support for a fair amount of streaming services including Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, iTunes, and HBO Go, there were a few notable services — HBO Now, for example — that were missing. On Thursday, Mighty TV announced that not only have HBO Now and Crackle joined the list of supported services, but a few new features have been added as well.

“We’ve designed MightyTV as a solution for anyone who wants to find more of what they’ll love to watch, without having to waste time each night flipping through channels or jumping between user log-ins,” MightyTV CEO Brian Adams said in a statement. “The new services and features we’re adding come after listening carefully to our users, and this is just another step we’re taking to make it even easier to find great videos you’ll love.”

The most interesting new feature added is the Mighty List. It uses a mix of user data collected from MightyTV viewers and handpicked selections from the company’s editorial team to steer users toward shows and movies that are currently hot. Users will see award-winning films that have recently been added to streaming services, as well as what MightyTV users are adding to their watch lists en masse.

The other new feature is likely to be popular with those who are a bit more privacy focused. Previously, signing up for MightyTV meant doing so with a Facebook account. Users can now sign up with an email address — something they have been requesting since the app launched in April.

Unfortunately, if you’re an Android user, you’re not going to be able to use MightyTV — for the time being, the app is iOS-only, available in the App Store as a free download. For more information, see the MightyTV website.
