Showtime announces premiere dates of ‘Homeland’ season 6, ‘Billions’ season 2

Homeland season 7
Showtime
Terrorist activity and white-collar crime will be returning to Showtime when Homeland season 6 and Billions season 2 premiere. We’re still months away from the next installments in the two series, but there is light at the end of the tunnel: The premium network announced during its Television Critics Association summer press tour event Thursday that the shows will return in early 2017, reports Variety.

Showtime previously broke the news that the return of Homeland would be later than usual, with the series arriving in January instead of in late September or early October as it has in the past. Thursday’s announcement revealed the exact time and date: 9 p.m. ET/PT on January 15. The espionage series will pick up months after the events of season 5 and follow Carrie Mathison (Claire Danes) as she returns to the U.S. and the country transitions from one president to another.

Homeland is currently in production in New York, which is another change from recent years. Seasons 4 and 5 were filmed on location in South Africa and Germany. The series continue to be produced by Fox 21 Television Studios. Danes, Alex Gansa, Gideon Raff, Howard Gordon, Chip Johannessen, Patrick Harbinson, Lesli Linka Glatter, Michael Klick, Avi Nir, and Ran Telem executive produce.

The second season of Billions will hit Showtime at 10 p.m. ET/PT on February 19. Also in production in New York, the series centers on tension between U.S. Attorney Chuck Rhoades (Paul Giamatti) and hedge fund billionaire Bobby “Axe” Axelrod (Damian Lewis). Season 2 will bring a battle for control as characters adjust to a changing world.

The show’s cast also includes Maggie Siff, Malin Akerman, Toby Leonard Moore, David Costabile, and Condola Rashad. Billions comes from creators and executive producers Brian Koppelman, David Levien, and Andrew Ross Sorkin; Koppelman and Levien also serve as writers and showrunners.

And Just Like That… season 2, episode 1 release date, time, channel, and plot
Miranda, Carrie, and Charlotte looking excited in ...And Just Like That.

After six successful seasons and two movies, the Sex and the City universe expanded with the addition of And Just Like That..., which serves as a sequel and series revival. Premiering in 2021, And Just Like That... reintroduced the world to Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker), Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon), and Charlotte York (Kristin Davis), three of the leading women in Sex and the City. The original series focused on the friendship, sex lives, and social issues of these then-thirtysomethings living in New York City.

And Just Like That..., however, picks up 11 years after Sex and the City 2, with Carrie, Miranda, and Charlotte all in their 50s. Despite the fact that they're older, the same friendship, fashion, and relationship drama are still as present as ever. And Just Like That... became Max's most-watched series debut at the time of its December 2021 premiere. Originally conceived as a miniseries, the overwhelming popularity led to a season 2 renewal.
