Yahoo Sports is bringing its focus on Major League Baseball (MLB) live-streams to its rebuilt mobile app with a host of new features.

As part of its latest update, the completely redesigned app now features a personalized live-streaming guide that helps you find and connect to services that are broadcasting MLB games. Additionally, Yahoo Sports will let you watch selected game-of-the-day broadcasts during the current MLB season live on your iOS or Android device.

Now, when you open the app, you will see a “Watch” button alongside games with streaming options on the “Schedule” page. Select the game you want to watch and you will be directed to its details page, where you will find a “Watch Now” button that tells you where it is being streamed. Yahoo claims that the app manages the complex rights and blackout restrictions to only show you live-streaming options that are available to you. Additionally, for mobile streaming fans, if a game is labelled as “Live on Yahoo” that means you can watch it directly on the game details page. It’s not just baseball fans who get a piece of the live-streaming action, Yahoo is also currently streaming four NHL games per week, which are available to view on the app.

Aside from visual content, Yahoo Sports offers news and updates from all the major sporting leagues. Sports fans can customize their app experience by selecting their favorite teams, and can receive notifications and updates. The app also offers exclusive content from popular Yahoo Sports columnists such as Adrian Wojnarowski, Dan Wetzel, and Pat Forde.

“We are excited to say that the days of scouring the internet to find where your live sports are streaming are a thing of the past,” states Parker Emmott, Director, Product Management at Yahoo, in a Tumblr post. “Starting today with MLB, our completely redesigned Yahoo Sports app now features a guide to find and stream live baseball games.”

Despite going through a major transition as a result of its recent acquisition by Verizon, Yahoo remains intent on refreshing its products in an effort to keep up with its rivals. Like other web giants such as Twitter and Facebook, Yahoo has stepped up its live-streaming game this year — first by acquiring the live-streaming rights to 180 MLB games, and then by launching a free Hulu streaming service in the form of Yahoo View.

What are iOS 14’s App Clips and how do you use them?
iOS 14 App Clips

Apple has gone to town with iOS 14, introducing a range of new features -- such as Home-screen widgets and an App Library -- that will almost certainly improve how we use our iPhones. This includes App Clips, an interesting addition that lets you use smaller, streamlined versions of apps without having to download them in full.

App Clips is designed to overcome any reluctance a user might have in trying new apps. Most of us have had an iPhone for some time now, so we've accumulated more than our fair share of apps and potentially don't want to clog up our devices with any more. However, App Clips solves this problem by letting you add a more streamlined version of an app, while also hiding it away in the App Library, where it won't take up valuable Home-screen real estate. In this article, we explain how to use and make the most of App Clips, from downloading clips for specific apps to removing them from your iPhone.
How do you use iOS 14's App Clips?
Remember, app clips aren't available from the App Store. Even with an app that does have a clip available for it, its page on the App Store will only let you download it in full.

This app will help prevent Big Tech from tracking you
Jumbo privacy app

You have today more options than ever to limit how much data you concede on the seemingly free services by Facebook, Google, and others. These privacy options, however, are almost never enabled by default or explicitly recommended and are often buried deep inside menus -- which means you may never discover them or be aware of how much of your sensitive information is being scooped up.

An app called Jumbo could be that missing, accessible link to these privacy controls, and its latest update could prove an even bigger nightmare for companies that furtively track what you do on your phone.
Doing your digital privacy chores
Jumbo acts as a sort of personal digital privacy assistant. The app can comb through your profiles, such as Facebook, and tell you where and how you can reduce what information you share, without the technical lingo. You can pick which trade-offs you’re comfortable with and instantly switch them off from the Jumbo app itself.
