For a selfie that’s (sorta) out of this world, you can’t rely on your arm and a selfie stick — you’ve got to turn to a drone. After all, life looks better from a bird’s-eye view, right? For everyone in agreement, there’s a new “ultimate flying camera” known as the Breeze. It’s a $500 device perfect for drone enthusiasts, camera lovers, and narcissists alike.
Featuring five flight modes and the ability to share images immediately via social media, the Breeze from electric aviation company Yuneec International is meant to take “ultra high resolution aerial photos and videos” of its user. Easy to transport thanks to its compact size, the Breeze will fly inside, outside, and just about anywhere you’ll go (well, not underwater). You’ll control the Breeze using naught more than your smartphone by accessing the Breeze Cam app, available for both iOS and Android. Once both you and your flying camera have come down to Earth, you can use the app to share both photos and videos through Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, and WhatsApp.
“With the popularity of selfies at an all-time high, we set out to create the ultimate, user-friendly flying camera which allows people to take their photos to new heights,” said Tian Yu, chief executive officer of Yuneec International. “The Breeze includes the Ultra HD and flight mode capabilities of our top-end drones, and because of its size and ease of use, the Breeze seamlessly integrates into just about any activity, whether it’s a first time outdoor adventure or yearly gathering with friends and family.”
While the $500 price point may seem a bit steep, it’s still relatively accessible in the realm of aerial photography, especially when you consider that the camera captures video in 4K Ultra High Definition, as well as 13 megapixel stills, which normally requires a device much larger than the one-pound Breeze.
