It’s an age-old adage, but one whose sentiment has withstood the test of time — a lot can happen in the blink of an eye. Luckily, the 21st century has afforded us with some tools that can help us keep a closer eye on just what can happen. Meet Blink, branded as the “ultra-affordable, wire-free, smart HD home monitoring and alert system.” First launched late in 2015, the Blink system is completely wireless and battery-operated to help homeowners stay vigilant no matter where they are by way of the Blink Home Monitor App. And with cameras starting at just $99, Blink believes that there shouldn’t be a barrier of entry to setting up security barriers for you and yours.

Blink setup is easy, as the cameras can either stand on their own or be mounted by way of their included brackets. Each camera features an adjustable sensitivity motion sensor, low-light illuminator, built-in microphone, temperature sensor, and free cloud storage, which combine to give users real-time visibility into just about every area of your home.

Promising a “comprehensive, customizable, and user-friendly solution for home security,” the Blink app lets users see their home or workplace from anywhere in the world by way of the live HD video feed and recorded video clips anytime motion is detected. And because there are no monthly fees to keeping Blink running, customers only have to buy the unit once (systems start a $99 and go up to $349 for a five camera-unit) and enjoy the payoff that is peace of mind.

“We’re extremely proud of Blink, and the community’s response to it,” says Don Shulsinger, VP of Sales and Marketing for parent company Immedia Semiconductor. “After a successful crowdfunding campaign, we have 50,000 units in the market and 4.5 stars on Amazon. With 50 percent of our customers purchasing three and five-camera systems, and existing users adding more cameras to their systems daily, the data clearly shows just how widespread the need is to see throughout the home. Our mission is to make it easy and affordable for consumers to monitor every room in their home or office.”
