Tinder Boost is an upcoming feature that puts your profile at the front of the queue

Tinder is testing a new feature that is all about getting you more matches by ensuring your profile is seen by more users.

Tinder Boost is a premium option currently being tested in Australia (which is apparently the place the app conducts all its romantic experiments) that basically lets you jump the queue of eager users for a designated amount of time.

When you purchase a “boost” your profile will automatically be the first (or one of the first) people in your area see when they open the app, for an engagement-enhancing 30 minutes. That’s enough time to guarantee you 10 times more profile views, according to Tinder.

Boosts can be purchased at any time for $7.99 each, or in bundles of five for $31, and 10 for $47, reports Mashable. Not exactly an inviting set of price tags if you happen to be a millennial straddled with student debt. Then again, love can help you forget all your woes. Wait a second, wasn’t it The Beatles who said “money can’t buy me love”? Well, they obviously didn’t have dating apps back then.

If you’re already forking out a premium subscription for Tinder Plus, the app will provide you with one free “boost” every week — as a little thank you for your dedication.

Tinder describes the new feature as an extension of its core experience, “providing you a simple, fun introduction to new people nearby so you can get out and meet them in the real world.” If the idea of a profile boost has got you excited, then you’ll be glad to know that a worldwide rollout is planned for the near future.

The announcement of the new premium option bucks the app’s recent trend of embracing more social connectivity features, including group hangouts and messaging.

Included in the update are three wallpapers for International Women’s Day that have been created by U.K. artist Manjit Thapp.
Gboard custom stickers
When you type messages using Gboard in U.S. English, you’ll see suggestions for stickers related to your text to help make your conversations more visually interesting. It doesn’t state whether this is available in just one app, so we assume it’ll be available across the board.
Live Captions
For those who don’t want to -- or are in a situation where they cannot -- speak when on a call, the Live Caption feature will help. During a call, captions of what’s being said by the other party will appear on the screen, and your typed responses will be read out loud. Again, Google doesn’t state whether this needs to be supported by your carrier, so we’ll assume it’ll be available for all.
Snapchat gets Night Sight
Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro owners who use Snapchat will get to use the camera’s Night Sight mode in the app itself. Google’s Night Sight camera is excellent and its lowlight photos are stunning. Not having to import them to Snapchat will increase usefulness and avoid any quality downgrades.
Interpreter Mode
Interpreter Mode is part of Live Translate, and works on the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. The latest feature to arrive adds Spanish, Italian, and French translations on to your device, so you can carry out live conversations with translation in real time. All you need to do is say, “Hey Google, be my French interpreter,” and the feature will activate. Also on the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro, Spanish is now one of the live translations available for video and other media.

Ring, the massive smart home security company, created the Neighbors app so that community members can stay safer together. The app has users connect with other users in their local neighborhood to alert each other when crimes happen, safety events need to be noted, or when pets are lost. The app also connects local public safety authorities with users.

This new Google Chrome feature may boost your search history

Google is adding a new feature to its Chrome web browser that’s intended to help you find previously browsed topics and pick up where you left off. Called Journeys, it’s rolling out now for Chrome’s desktop version.

The feature essentially works like an extension of browsing history. When you type a word into the search bar or head to the Chrome History Journeys page in your browser, you will see a list of previously visited sites linked to that topic. Chrome will know how much you’ve interacted with any particular site, and those it considers the most relevant to you will go to the top of the pile.
