For the entire month of November, Xbox One owners will be able to download Super Dungeon Bros., a hard rock-fueled cooperative action game with a vibrant color scheme and character designs that look like old Bionicle toys. The game will be released for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on November 1, the first day it will be available for free to Xbox Live Gold members.
From November 16 until December 15, Xbox One owners can also pick up Murdered: Soul Suspect. You play as Ronan O’Connor, a detective murdered in the legendary horror setting of Salem. The game released in 2014 to a less-than-stellar reception, with our review criticizing its poor characterization and lack of challenge. Less then a month after Murdered: Soul Suspect was released, developer Airtight Games shut down.
Xbox 360 owners — and Xbox One owners through backward compatibility — will be able to download The Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition from November 1 though November 15. The game is a 2009 remastered version of the original 1990 point-and-click adventure and may have the best protagonist name in the history of video games: “Guybrush Threepwood.”
Finally, Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon will be available for both Xbox One and Xbox 360 from November 16 until November 30. A neon-filled spinoff of the excellent Far Cry 3, Blood Dragon swaps out the bullets and realism for lasers and some of the goofiest enemies we’ve seen from Ubisoft. If you’re looking for a little bit of camp, particularly as you eat your leftover Halloween candy, this is the perfect choice. A “sequel,” Trials of the Blood Dragon, was also released earlier this year.
