One of the more interesting new Windows 10 2-in-1 machines to hit the market soon is the Eve V, a device that is very much like Microsoft’s Surface Pro 4. That is no surprise, given the machine was crowdsourced at the Eve community website and many participants may very well have had Microsoft’s version in mind as they contributed.
The Eve V received its final hardware specifications recently and they describe a machine with top-of-the-line components that in some cases actually exceed Microsoft’s own category-defining machine. Now, Eve has finalized the IndieGoGo campaign that is being used to sell the machine and all of the details are listed at the machine’s IndieGoGo page.
The IndieGoGo campaign generated more than $500,000 from 500-plus backers, far exceeding its goal of $75,000 and sold out of all its devices. The Eve V starts out at $699 for the Core m3 version with 8GB of RAM and 128GB SSD. The Early Bird offer includes the machine, limited edition engraving, the $39 V Pen, and an Alcantara Keyboard worth $25. The standard one-year warranty is extended to two years for the early buyers.
Next up is the Core i5 version at $960, which also has 8GB of RAM but ups the SSD to 256GB. The Early Bird configuration includes all of the same extras as the Core i3 version. The Core i7 Early Bird special includes 16GB of
Initial production runs are limited, with only 20 units of the Core m3, 35 units of the Core i5, and 35 units of the Core i7 being offered at first. The Early Bird machines are estimated to ship in February.
