Die-hard Nintendo 64 fans may soon venture into the world of vinyl record collecting, as indie publishing label iam8bit is now accepting pre-orders for a two-LP set featuring orchestrated music from the landmark N64 action-RPG The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

Iam8bit’s Hero of Time album release offers up dozens of classic tracks performed by the 64-piece Slovak National Symphony Orchestra, giving classic console fans more than an hour’s worth of nostalgic aural bliss.

Originally released in 1998, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time went on to become one of the Nintendo 64’s biggest-selling titles of all time, and many fans regard it as a high point in the Zelda series as a whole. Multiple remix albums and symphonic arrangements of the game’s iconic soundtrack premiered in the years afterward, and iam8bit’s upcoming vinyl release targets a fan base of players who have fond memories of the N64 era.

While fans share an attachment to Ocarina of Time‘s original wavetable tracks, iam8bit’s forthcoming album release upgrades Nintendo’s classic soundtrack with backing from the Slovak National Symphony Orchestra, replacing the N64’s synthesized instruments with live brass, string, and woodwind arrangements.

The Hero of Time set includes two vinyl picture disc albums featuring green and purple Rupee designs. The collection is housed in a gold foil-stamped sleeve, complete with an ocarina-shaped die-cut cover and a rear-facing Triforce design. The album’s inner gatefold image features artwork from designer Ryan Brinkerhoff, depicting Hyrule Field during daylight and at dusk.

Though a track listing is not yet known, the two-album set is likely to span the majority of Ocarina of Time‘s soundtrack, including familiar melodies like Kokiri Forest, Lon Lon Ranch, and the Hyrule Field Main Theme.

The limited edition package is priced at $40, and Iam8bit is accepting pre-orders through Friday, December 9, at 10 a.m. PST. Hero of Time will begin shipping in the second quarter of 2017.

Basim perched on a ledge overlooking Baghdad

In a company interview with CEO Yves Guillemot posted on the Ubisoft website Thursday, the executive reveals that there are remakes of Assassin's Creed games in the works, although he doesn't specify which ones.

"Players can be excited about some remakes, which will allow us to revisit some of the games we've created in the past and modernize them," he says, implying that it could pertain to games made before Odyssey. "There are worlds in some of our older Assassin's Creed games that are still extremely rich."

Surfaced patent shows what an Xbox streaming console would’ve looked like
An Xbox Series X sits next to both Series S models.

There have been a few Xbox devices that have never come to fruition, one of which was Keystone, a prototype for an affordable game streaming device you could hook up to your TV or monitor. Thanks to a surfaced patent, we've gotten an even closer look at what it would've potentially looked like.

The patent, first spotted by Windows Central, gives us a more complete view of the device. We've previously seen the Keystone in the flesh. Microsoft Gaming head Phil Spencer is known for hiding teases and interesting collectibles on the shelf in his office. In a 2022 X (formerly Twitter) post congratulating Bethesda on Fallout's 25th anniversary, you can see a small white device on the top shelf that's actually a Keystone prototype. Xbox told Digital Trends that it was a version of the device made before it decided to "refocus our efforts on a new approach.”
