The best OnePlus 6 cases and covers

The best OnePlus 6 cases to protect that all-glass body

The OnePlus 6 is yet another tempting bargain packed with great hardware, but it also sports an all-glass body and a large, edge-to-edge display. Drop this phone and you’re going to suffer from acute anxiety because cracks, chips, and scratches seem inevitable. Case makers are gradually warming to OnePlus’ wares, so you can lay hands on some decent options now — and there are more on the way. Behold the best OnePlus 6 cases and covers so far.

Noreve Tradition B Case ($68)

If you’re a fan of genuine leather cases and prepared to pay for quality, then Noreve’s lineup should be on your radar. We like this folio-style wallet case, which sports two card pockets and a larger pouch inside the cover. It can be closed securely with a magnetic clasp. There’s a simple shell inside that holds your OnePlus 6 securely in place and it’s covered from every angle, but you still have access to the buttons, ports, camera, and everything else. Noreve offers an extensive choice of different colors and leather grain finishes, so you can get the precise look and feel you crave. You can also opt for a horizontally opening case or a leather shell.

Spigen Rugged Armor Case ($13)

Spigen has imbued this typical TPU case with a flourish of executive style by adding carbon fiber-style panels on the back and some glossy highlights to break up the matte black finish. It has air pockets in the corners, a raised lip around the screen, and a spiderweb pattern inside all designed to protect your OnePlus 6 in the event of a fall. You’ll also find generous openings for ports, camera, and other functions alongside tactile button covers, including a textured power button cover.

Poetic Nubuck Credit Card Case ($13)

Here’s something a little different. Poetic’s slim TPU case has a fake perforated leather pocket on the back made from polyurethane that provides enough space for a couple of credit cards, enabling you to leave your wallet at home. The fit is good with accurate cutouts and button covers, though the pouch on the back feels tight at first. It doesn’t encroach too much on the screen, so this case can be combined with a screen protector. It should guard against minor drops or bumps, but it’s not very thick so we’re not talking about rugged protection here.

Nillkin Qin Wallet Case ($13)

If you like the idea of a wallet case, but don’t want to spend too much, then this slim, polyurethane wallet case from Nillkin might be for you. It features a minimal polycarbonate shell with large openings for uninterrupted access to everything. The cover opens like a book to reveal a single slot for a credit card or ID. There’s a soft lining inside to keep your OnePlus 6 safe. The case comes in black, red, or brown and the only real detail to speak of is the metallic logo at the bottom right of the cover. It’s very slim so we’re not sure this will offer much drop protection, but it will keep your phone safe from scrapes and scratches while it’s in your bag or pocket.

Tudia Dual Layer Case ($11)

This case has the classic combination of TPU with a hard polycarbonate back panel that goes on top. The dual layer construction should provide decent drop protection and there is a raised lip around the screen. You’ll also find grooves on the sides to enhance grip, chunky button covers, and fairly generous cutouts that allow you to access and use everything without any major issues — though the alert slider button is a little trickier to use than normal because the case is thick. The inner shell is black, but you can get the back panel in mint, silver, rose gold, or black.

OnePlus 6 Silicone Case ($20)

There are a few official OnePlus 6 cases available, but our top pick is this eye-catching red silicone case. It’s designed to absorb the shock of drops and bumps, there’s a microfiber lining inside to keep your phone in perfect condition, it feels comfortable to hold, and it enhances grip. You’ll also find subtle button covers and generous cutouts for easy access to everything. If you want more protection, then check out the bumper case at $25 — it comes in wood, nylon, and carbon fiber finishes.

If you want solid drop protection, then this case is worth considering. It offers a dual-layer design that combines polycarbonate with flexible rubber that’s easy to grip. There’s a raised lip around the screen, button and port covers, and a recessed opening for the camera and fingerprint sensor. It comes in black or indigo blue. This is the most protective option we’ve seen so far.

Anyone with a limited budget might consider dropping five bucks on this to reduce the worry about dropping their OnePlus 6. It’s a typical flexible TPU case that will take the sting out of knocks and minor drops. The openings and button covers are all present and in the right places, and it’s finished in a brushed texture with two carbon fiber effect panels. You can expect to see several cases that look like this, but you’re not likely to find it cheaper — just don’t expect high quality.

With a clear polycarbonate back panel, the design of your OnePlus 6 shines through with this case, but there’s also a protective bumper of malleable TPU with specially reinforced corners to guard against drop damage. The chunky corners also extend front and back to ensure your screen and camera lens never meet the ground. The back is always clear, but you can also get the bumper section in black if you prefer.

This is a good pick if you prefer minimal coverage that won’t spoil the look of your OnePlus 6. It’s a thin, clear, flexible TPU case that will guard against scratches and minor bumps but drop protection will be limited. The openings are in the right places and it will enhance your grip. It’s plain apart from a subtle dot pattern that helps it shrug off smudges.
