‘Forza Horizon 4’ reportedly includes famous ‘Halo’ level

Forza Horizon 4 - E3 2018 - Announce Trailer

The original Halo: Combat Evolved is one of the most important games — if not the most important — that Microsoft has ever published, and it looks like one of the company’s upcoming titles will pay tribute to it. Forza Horizon 4 will reportedly include a mission based on the “Silent Cartographer” level, and we couldn’t be more excited to race around in a Warthog again.

An image, which appears to be a leak from Forza Horizon 4, was posted on Reddit over the weekend and shows a Warthog from the Halo series driving along a beach. To the left of the Warthog, you can clearly see a Halo ring in the sky, and a large Covenant ship looms overhead, partially obscured by clouds. Given the amount of driving found in “Silent Cartographer,” it seems like the obvious choice for a tribute.

In July, an icon for a showcase race in Forza Horizon 4 seemed to suggest the Halo series’ Pelican ship would also be making an appearance. This event is likely the same as the “Silent Cartographer” mission, as the Pelican is heavily featured in the original Halo. The mission opens with an enormous battle on a beach before eventually making its way indoors. It was a technical marvel on the original Xbox 17 years ago, and we’re excited to see what Playground Games can do with it in 2018.

“Silent Cartographer” isn’t the only mission in the original Halo to heavily focus on driving. The final mission, “The Maw,” features a tense escape sequence as you race to escape the Halo ring before it’s completely destroyed. A similar mission was also included at the end of Halo 3.

Forza Horizon 4 has much more going for it than just a Halo mission. The game features dynamic seasons that can completely change how you race, as well as an online open world, 4K resolution and 60 frames per second on Xbox One X, and more than 450 cars. Though you’ll have the option to play with real racers in an online open world, Forza Horizon 4 will also support a more traditional offline mode. The game comes to Xbox One and PC on October 2, and it’s part of Microsoft’s Xbox Play Anywhere program.

I know nothing about cars and even I’m obsessed with Forza Motorsport
A driver races a car in Forza Motorsport.

More than any other game released this fall, Forza Motorsport has become my new obsession. I’ve spent days tuning up cars and perfecting my racing skills, all while throwing music on in the background and zoning out. It’s one of my favorite video game experiences I’ve had this year. Judging by that, you may assume I’m your average car guy who’s simply won over by all those shiny, digital vehicles. That’s not the case; I don’t even have a driver’s license in real life.

The beauty of Forza Motorsport is that you don’t need to be an automotive fanatic to enjoy its elegant simulation gameplay. That’s because the racing game is built around a collection of simple pleasures that both pull from the best video games and entirely subvert them. Whether you’re a car enthusiast or not, there’s video game joy to discover in Forza if you’re looking at it the right way.
Take it easy
At a passing glance, Forza Motorsport doesn’t look all that special. It’s a standard racing simulator where you zoom around tracks in incredibly realistic cars. It’s the prettiest game in the genre, right next to Gran Turismo 7, but only seasoned driving sim veterans are likely to see any of its nuances initially.

What is the max level in Starfield?
An astronaut stands on the moon in Starfield.

No matter the type or setting of an RPG, leveling up and unlocking new skills is almost always the highlight. Each game handles earning XP and leveling differently, and since Starfield is a new IP from Bethesda, it functions slightly differently from their other big franchises like Elder Scrolls. But how different is the system, or more specifically, does it gate you off at any point from leveling up beyond a certain point? If you want to know what the level cap is in Starfield, here's what we've discovered in our adventures through the cosmos.
What is the max level in Starfield?

We've yet to hit any level cap in Starfield during all our time with the game. However, we can point to two possible caps, but more likely consider there to be no cap at this time. Should we hit a point where no more levels can be gained, we will update this article.

Final Xbox Live Gold games include a free hidden gem worth downloading
Blue Fire's main character runs on a wall.

Microsoft revealed the final two games that will be available for free as part of the Games with Gold program for Xbox Live Gold. The service isn't really going out with a bang, but one of the games is a solid Souls-inspired indie platformer that's worth a download as Games with Gold's swan song.

The two games Microsoft will give away are Level 91 Entertainment's Inertial Drift and Robi Studios' Blue Fire. Inertial Drift is a vibrant, neon-infused arcade racer with unique twin-stick controls that players have to master in order to steer and drift properly. Racing game fans should get a kick out of it, but the game to really care about in this final batch is Blue Fire.
Blue Fire is a 3D platformer, but it takes more inspiration from the likes of Dark Souls and Hollow Knight than Super Mario 64. While it's a pretty fast-paced platformer with a satisfying dash move at its core, it makes players platform through pretty dark and moody settings that interconnect like Dark Souls areas do. The game also sometimes places emphasis on combat, which is usually a bad sign in platformers, fights can actually sometimes be pretty tough and satisfying in Blue Fire.
