All the best multiplayer games in the modern age, from survival games like Ark: Survival Evolved to RPGs like Genshin Impact, live and die based on their player count. With a battle royale like Apex Legends where you need a lot more players for a match than a traditional multiplayer game, you would assume it is a cross-platform game. Those who played early on may know that this wasn’t true, but what about now? There have been years of updates, but was cross-platform support ever introduced?

Yes, after an initial beta period, Apex Legends has fully integrated cross-platform support for all players by default. This includes PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and even Switch players.

Unlike some games with cross-platform support like Valorant, Apex Legends does not keep PC players separate from those on consoles. However, if you do feel you are at a disadvantage because of your platform, you can turn crossplay off at any time.

Apex Legends also features full cross-progression. Any cosmetics and player progression you make on your account can be picked up and used on any supported platform with nothing lost in the process. Just log in with the same EA account and you will be good to go.

Yes, Sea of Thieves supports cross-platform play across PC, Xbox, and PlayStation 5 just like. That includes both the Windows 10 and Steam versions on PC, as well as Xbox One and Xbox Series X versions. In short, if you have a platform that can play Sea of Thieves, it supports crossplay just like you can with Minecraft or Borderlands 3.

When it launched in 2022, Elden Ring was an immediate hit. The challenging game took everything great from previous FromSoftware titles and merged it with a sweeping open world to explore -- letting players venture in any direction just a few minutes after starting the game. That also made it incredibly daunting. Not only did you have to contend with nightmarish monsters and rage-inducing combat, but you had to figure out how to best reach your next destination without stumbling upon enemies that were twice your skill level.

Thankfully, Elden Ring makes use of a (cryptic) multiplayer system, allowing you to explore the Lands Between with a buddy by your side. You can also read and leave messages for other players, giving them tips and tricks to guide their journey. Building and managing your own medieval utopia is a lonely job. Sure, you have a population of citizens to grow and order around, but they can't compare with another actual human player. At least at launch, Manor Lords is a PC exclusive, and it's also going to be coming to Xbox consoles as well so even more people can get in on the city-building fun. We can expect basically any modern game to allow for cross-platform play, but what if Manor Lords is stuck in the Middle Ages? Is Manor Lords cross-platform?
Without beating around the bush, no, Manor Lords has no cross-platform support. Even when the game is available on Steam, PC Game Pass, and Xbox consoles, there will be no way to play with others on different platforms. In fact, you can't play with people on the same platform, either. Manor Lords has no multiplayer component whatsoever -- either co-op or competitive -- so there's no reason for this feature to be included.

Sadly, you shouldn't expect any multiplayer to come to the game later. A developer released an FAQ prior to the game's launch and responded to a question regarding multiplayer, stating: "The focus is on a refined single-player experience, with no multiplayer or cooperative modes planned at the moment."
