Even with all the best tips and tricks, it takes a lot of work to find a horse in Minecraft. Once you do, no doubt you will want to tame them, put on a saddle, or maybe even breed them to have an entire stable of steeds. But if you don't have all the tools to do that when you do find a horse, you will need an easy way to bring them back to your house. A lead lets you, well, lead an animal wherever you want. Here's how to make one.
How to make a lead
The ingredients for a lead aren't too difficult to come by. The most challenging will probably be slime balls, which are dropped by slimes. These mostly spawn near swamps and are very easy to take down. Once you have the required tools, here's how to craft a lead:
Step 1: Open your Crafting Table.
Step 2: Place one string each in the top and middle square in the left column.
Step 3: Place one string into the top square in the middle column.
Step 4: Place one slimeball into the middle square in the middle column.
Step 5: Place one string into the bottom square in the right column.
Step 6: Drag the resulting two leads down into your inventory.
Once you have the lead, just equip it and use it on the horse (or other passive mob) to attach the rope to it. You can then pull it along behind you or tie it to a fence to keep it from running away while you do something else.
