How to solve the Treasure Lost, Treasure Found quest in Genshin Impact

The Treasure Lost, Treasure Found quest in Genshin Impact is tricky. Although the quest steps themselves are straightforward, the locations you need to go aren’t marked on your map, breaking from most other quests in the game. To help you get to the end, here’s how to solve the Treasure Lost, Treasure Found quest in Genshin Impact.

For your efforts, you’ll earn a slew of high-powered gear, as well as a big boost to your Adventure rank and a shrine key. Although the quest doesn’t have a level requirement, make sure your main character is up to level 19, at least. The enemies you’ll face during the quest will be between level 18 and level 21.

Finding the quest

To start the Treasure Lost, Treasure Found quest, you need to talk to Soraya in the Domain of Forsaken Ruins. This domain is located in the Guili Plains, and the entire quest takes place around the same location. Soraya isn’t marked on the map, so use the map above to track her down. If you want find her yourself, she’s standing near the front of the Domain of Forsaken Ruins.

Step 1: Find the five stone tablets

After you find and talk to Soraya, she’ll tell you that there are five stone tablets you need to find around the Domain of Forsaken Ruins. These tablets aren’t marked on your map, but they’re all close enough to Soraya that they shouldn’t be too hard to find. We’ve marked the approximate locations on the screenshot of the map above to get you started.

Some of the tablets have a few enemies hanging around (level 19 for us), so make sure you’re ready to deal with them. If you’ve made it to the quest giver without any issues, you should be well-equipped.

After you’ve found all five stone tablets, go back and talk to Soraya. She’ll translate the tablets you’ve found, but your work isn’t complete yet. Two more stone tablets will spawn that you need to find. Thankfully, these tablets are marked on your map. Head to the markers, deal with the enemies nearby, and interact with the tablets to progress the quest. You’ll earn a couple of Precious Chests for your efforts.

Head back to Soraya, and she’ll decipher the two additional stone tablets. You find out that there’s treasure somewhere, but that you need a few more pieces to find it. Soraya will immediately teleport to the Wangshu Inn after you talk to her. Track her down to begin the next step.

Step 2: Find the four jade plates

After ascending the treetop inn and talking to Soraya, she’ll tell you that there are more clues hidden around the area, pointing you toward a “strange plate” she found before. She’s referring to one of four jade plates you need to find, which are located by activating ruins. Soraya will mark the first one on your map, but you’re on your own for the others. To make matters worse, the jade plates are more spaced out than the stone tablets.

You’ll find them scattered in the Guili Plains, and you can see the approximate locations using the map above. There are also small markers noting where the jade plates are already on the map, but you can’t track them, and they don’t stand out from the topography.

Before heading out, make sure to activate the teleport portal next to Soraya. You’ll need to return to her after finding the plates. Venture out to the markers and activate the ruins, dealing with enemies you find along the way. Then, fast travel back to Soraya to progress the quest.

After talking to her, Soraya will, once again, say that the plates are confusing and suggest you investigate the final ruin. Lazy as ever, Soraya will stay at the Wangshu Inn while you go finish the quest.

Step 3: Find the final ruin

The final ruin isn’t marked on your map, so use the screenshot above to navigate to it. At the final ruin, you’ll find a clue mechanism that you need to activate to progress the quest. Doing so will activate the three Ruin Guards around the area, and if you haven’t dealt with them before, they can be a little tough.

Ruin Guards have a 10% resistance to elemental attacks and a massive 70% resistance to physical attacks. They also have some huge leaping attacks that can put you out of commission quickly. Use Amber’s arrows to strike the glowing core (the “head” of the Ruin Guards). This is the weak point, and after two successful hits, the Ruin Guard will deactivate for a short time, allowing you unleash as much damage as possible.

After you deal with them, activate the clue mechanism nearby again. Once you do, the water will drain in the small pool at the center of the area. Jump down to claim you reward: A Luxurious Chest and two Previous Chests.

You’re not done yet, though. Fast-travel back to Soraya and tell her you found the treasure. After some dialogue, she’ll give you 50 Primogem, 400 Adventure rank experience, and a Liyue Shrine of Depths key, allowing you to unlock one of the shines around Liyue.
