ViewSonic VX2739wm LCD monitor sports 1ms response time

Display and television maker ViewSonic has taken the wraps off its latest 27-inch LCD computer display, the attractively-named VX2739wm—and this time, the company is touting a world first: the only 27-inch display with a 1ms response time.

“We have been in the monitor business for more than 20 years, and every day we continue to innovate and push the limits of what is possible,” said ViewSonic senior product manager Sean Gunduz, in a statement. “This is truly an industry-leading display experience.”

The VX2739wm sports a 1,920 by 1,080-pixel native resolution, a 1,200:1 contrast ratio (which ViewSonic touts as a 100,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio), and 300 cd/m² of brightness. The display also packs the connectivity, with an integrated four-port USB hub along with HDMI, DVI, and VGA input options, along with a VESA-compliant wall mount for folks who want to use it as an entertainment display. The VX2739wm also packs built-in 2 watt speakers with SRS Premium Sound support, and an ECO mode that can cut energy use by up to 35 percent. ViewSonic is also touting the display as designed with both PCs and Macs in mind.

The website touts the LCD monitor in language you might find hyperbolic, but it does sound neat nonetheless:

Introducing the World’s first 27″ 1ms monitor, the VX2739wm! Big screen, sleek design, fast response time and diverse connectivity options – everything you need to work or play. With 27″ 1080p panel, 1ms super fast response time, HDMI, DVI, VGA inputs and 4-port USB hub, ViewSonic’s VX2739wm LCD will make your games seem real and your graphics picture perfect. All your entertainment is enhanced by 100,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio for crystal crisp images and SRS® Premium Sound for super crisp sound. ECO-mode saves up to 35% energy use making this an eco-friendly choice. It fits in anywhere. Put it on your desk or wall mount, use it as a monitor or a game console, hook it up to your cable/satellite box or to your DVD player, you will get the most out of your investment with ViewSonic’s strongest pixel performance guarantee and 3-year warranty!

The VX2739wm is available now from online retailers like Amazon.com, NewEgg, and PCMall at a “special introductory price” of $349.

There are some great machines in the 15-inch laptop category, which has recently been stretched to include the more common 16-inch laptop. The best among them is the Apple MacBook Pro 16, which offers fast performance for tasks like video editing and the longest battery life.

The Lenovo Yoga Pro 9i 16 is aimed not only at other 16-inch Windows laptops but also at the MacBook Pro 16. It offers many of the same benefits but at a lower price. Can it take a place at the top?

How to set an ‘Out of Office’ message in Microsoft Teams
Person using Windows 11 laptop on their lap by the window.

Many people use Microsoft Teams regularly to communicate with colleagues both inside of the office and remotely. It is considered one of the most efficient ways to ensure you can stay in contact with the people on your team, but what if you need to let people know you’re not readily available? Microsoft Teams has a method for you to set up an "Out of Office" status for your profile to let staff members know when you’ll be gone for the afternoon, for several days on vacation, or for an extended period.
Where do I go to set up my ‘Out of Office’ status for Teams?
It is important to note that your Microsoft Teams and Outlook calendars are synced. This includes your out-of-office status and automatic replies. So, whatever you set up in Microsoft Teams will reflect in Outlook. Similarly, you can set up your out-of-office status in Outlook, and it will be reflected in Teams; however, the former has a more straightforward instruction.

First, you can click on your profile icon in Teams and go directly to Schedule an out of office, as a shortcut. This will take you to the settings area where you can proceed. You can also click the three-dot icon next to your profile icon, then go to Settings > General, then scroll down to the bottom of the page. There, you'll find out-of-office settings and click Schedule.
