Apple accessory maker iLuv has flipped the switch on three new portable speaker solutions for iPhone, iPad, and notebook users, with an eye towards letting users share their music and media with others more easily without introducing a snarl of cables—all the speaker systems can run off USB power rather than a separate AC adapter, and the iSP150 can also run off 4 AAA batteries.
“We feel that computer users now want solutions that feature USB power options, minimal cables and are small in size ” said iLuv marketing manager Howard Kim, in a statement. “To meet the everyday speaker and space needs of Mac, PC, and laptop users, we designed these three peripheral solutions in an effort to meet that growing demand.”
The iSP130 is a clip-on speaker designed for notebooks that can be mounted on the top of a display or secondary monitor. The iSP150—or, the “Valvle,” apparently—is a portable speaker bar with a separate power switch (it needs one, since it can also run off those AAA batteries) along with a separate volume control: iLuv is touting it as a good portable solution for iPhone and iPad owners who don’t have a spare USB port to drive speakers. Finally, the iSP170s are a set of cube-cased stereo speakers that measure just 2.8 inches on a side and run off USB power and give some extra oomph and clarity over a typical notebook’s built-in speakers.
iLuv says the iSP130, iSP150, and iSP170 are available now for $19.99, $34.99, and $39.99, respectively.
