If you own a PS3 and an Xbox 360, and have been considering which system might offer the better experience for Dead Rising 2, this recently announced Xbox 360 exclusive DLC might seal the deal.

Capcom has released a trailer for the upcoming DLC, Dead Rising: Case West, which will be an exclusive to Xbox 360 users, just as the recently released Dead Rising: Case Zero download was. The expansion will act as an epilogue to the game, and feature the return of Frank West, the protagonist from Dead Rising that Capcom is determined to make iconic — whether we the gamers want it or not. West can also be seen as a playable character in the upcoming Marvel vs. Capcom 3, as well as a character skin in Lost Planet 2.

The expansion takes place shortly after the events of Dead Rising 2, and the sequel’s protagonist, Chuck Greene, must team up with West to stop a new zombie threat and clear his name. Gamers will be able to play co-op with the two heroes. No official word yet on price, but the DLC is set to release shortly after Dead Rising 2.

Dead Rising 2 is due out on Ps3, Xbox 360 and PC on September 28.

Warning: This trailer may not be suitable for all ages.

Xbox Game Pass adds Red Dead Redemption 2, loses Grand Theft Auto V
read dead redemption solo shot

Xbox Game Pass gets a significant shake-up to its Xbox One library as it swaps out Grand Theft Auto V for Red Dead Redemption 2 on May 7.

GTA V's exit comes suddenly, as it was only added to the subscription service on January 3. Players will have two weeks to wrap up any dirty work that Trevor, Franklin, and Michael have to finish in Los Santos. Alternatively, they can purchase a copy of the game, which is still a top-selling title nearly seven years after release, to continue their Grand Theft Auto Online adventure. Game Pass members can get GTA V for 20% off, putting it at $24 for the base game. Premium bundles and Shark Cards for its multiplayer mode are similarly discounted.

A viking slashes a tree in Volgarr the Viking 2.

Developer Digital Eclipse is working on a surprising project: Volgarr the Viking 2. The 2D retro sequel will launch on August 6 for PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

The news is an out of left field reveal. The first Volgarr the Viking game released in 2013 and was made as an ode to 1080s classics like Ghosts 'n Goblins. Despite being a small release, it sold over 1 million copies over the past decade. As revealed during today's Guerrilla Collective stream, the series is coming back with a new sequel by Digital Eclipse, the team behind this year's Llamasoft: The Jeff Minter Story.

3 Days of Play PS Plus games to try this weekend (June 7-9)
Key art for Streets of Rage 4.

June 2024 is shaping up to be a pretty great month for PlayStation players. Not only are we coming off an entertaining State of Play showcase, but a new Days of Play initiative surrounding all the video game showcases this month is bringing a lot of new PS Plus additions with it. Many of those games hit PS Plus this week, and three in particular stand out to us.

For owners of Sony's oft-neglected PlayStation VR2, the first game is one of its rare exclusives that take full advantage of the headset's eye-tracking by seeing how often players blink. The next is a new PS Plus Essential game that's a revival of Sega's classic beat-'em-up series for the modern gaming era. Finally, the last title is an atmospheric and eerie fishing game that should entice fans of Lovecraftian horror.
