Computer maker Gateway has taken the wraps off three new LED monitors: two Gateway FHX models measuring 21.5 and 24 inches diagonally, along with a new Gateway FHD model measuring 23 inches, diagonally. All three new displays sport ultra-slim profiles, eco-friendly features, and solid performance specs for entertainment, gaming, and multimedia use.
“These new Gateway monitors give consumers a choice in style and functionality when choosing a monitor for their home or office,” said Acer America senior product marketing manager for peripherals Irene Chan, in a statement. “All three models offer advanced display technology that meets a wide variety of viewing needs combined with the power-saving features and an eco-friendly design that are important to today’s consumers.”
The FHX monitors sport a glossy black bezel and a brushed aluminum stand, while the FHD model sports a transparent frame that—coupled with an asymmetric stand—helps create the illusion of a floating panel.
All three new monitors sport a native 1,920 by 1,080-pixel resolution, making them a good fit for high-definition video content. Gateway claims they offer a 12,000,000:1 contrast ratio (we’re guessing that’s the not-very-useful dynamic contrast ratio measurement), along with 250cd/m² of brightness and support for 16.7 million colors. All three displays offer VGA and DVI/HDCP inputs, while the 23-inch FHD and the 24-inch FHX also offer an HDMI input so they can be used directly with high-definition video sources. The Gateway FHX models sport 2ms response times, while the FHD model jumps out a bit to a 5ms response time.
All three models feature LED backlighting and are RoHS and Energy Star qualified.
The three new displays are available now, with the 21.5-inch FHX215L carrying a suggested retail price of $189.99, while the FHX2402L and the FHD2303L each going for $249.99.
