PS Vita pre-orders go up on Best Buy’s Canada site with a March 30, 2012 release date

Let’s re-evaluate the above headline first and lay out the thrust of this story for you: PlayStation Vita pre-orders are apparently now open at Best Buy in Canada. Both the Wi-Fi-only and Wi-Fi + 3G models have product pages (via Engadget), with a March 30, 2012 release date listed. Don’t read too much into that date, however.

Sony confirmed last week that the Vita wouldn’t be arriving in North America or Europe until “early 2012,” with Japan getting the new portable gaming device first, sometime during the coming holiday season. March 30 is roughly the end of “early 2012” — the month marks the end of the year’s first quarter, anyway — so it’s likely the release outside Japan will happen on or before that date.

You can probably expect other pre-order-type offers to start popping up soon, though we’re still more than a month away from having an official date. Sony confirmed last week that an announcement on that front is coming in September, at Tokyo Game Show. Try to hold out until then, as opposed to converting your cash to Canadian currency for a cross-the-border pre-order.

Marvel Midnight Suns: Enhanced Edition — $20, was $30

Marvel: Midnight Suns is an XCOM-like where you combat the forces of evil with an array of heroes, not agents. While the game was released around the same time as Marvel Snap, and also features cards, don't think of it as a quick pick-me-up game. Instead, it features a full-length campaign. The enhanced edition includes post-launch DLC content, giving you a more complete experience, as well as premium skins, so you can see your favorite hero in the style you like.

PS5 Pro: news, rumored release date, price, and specs
A PS5 standing on a table, with purple lights around it.

Rumors are running rampant about a supposed PlayStation 5 Pro, or PS5 Pro for short. Just like we got a mid-generation upgrade with the PS4 Pro  during the last console cycle, many people are expecting PlayStation to release an incrementally more powerful machine to bridge the gap between the launch unit and an eventual PlayStation 6. Leaks have been coming out from some fairly credible sources, with a lot of juicy and very specific details about what a hypothetical PS5 Pro could look like. As credible as these sources may be, we do still need to take everything we see with some skepticism until Sony officially confirms that this system even exists. Until then, here are all the rumors out there regarding the PS5 Pro.
Rumored release window

A constant release window that all leaks have pointed to is sometime in Fall of 2024. That's right around the corner, probably in the September through November range, meaning we should be getting an official announcement on the console if that is indeed the plan. It appears that PS5 Pro dev kits are now in the hands of more developers, who have been asked that PS5 Pro-enhanced games be submitted for certification in August. These developments point toward a 2024 release.
