PS Plus Premium lineup includes Final Fantasy, VR games, and more

Today, PlayStation shared the full list of PS1, PS2, PS4, and PS5 games that are part of the new games library for PlayStation Plus Premium and Extra subscribers as the service started to roll out in Asia.

PlayStation Plus’ relaunch in North America is just around the corner, but Sony fans in Asia are getting a first look at these new models for Sony’s subscription service. On top of allowing members to play online and get two free games a month, PS Plus Premium and Extra contain a library of games similar to Xbox Game Pass. Today, we got a look at what that list actually looks like.

Introducing the all-new PlayStation Plus | PS5 & PS4 Games

The catalog of modern games coming to the service is extensive, containing over 70 modern titles. A few of the notable titles not previously revealed include multiple classic and modern Final Fantasy games, Balan Wonderworld (for some reason), Detroit: Become HumanFriday the 13th: The GameOvercooked 2, Trials Fusion and Rising, and more. There is also more love for indie and VR titles present in the full list.

Members of the Premium PlayStation Plus tier can also access a library of PlayStation 1, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, and PSP titles. These games — which include classics like Tekken 2Ape Escape, and Ashura’s Wrath — will also be available for purchase with prices already appearing on Asian PlayStation Stores.

There are many wondering how their current PlayStation Plus subscriptions will convert over to the new service. Thankfully, we have a primer explaining just that. Not only are Plus subscriptions of varying lengths converting into different programs, but PlayStation Now memberships are also converting over as the service goes defunct to make room.

PlayStations Plus Premium and Extra go live in North America on June 13, 2022. For those who want a rundown on all the tiers of the new model, Digital Trends also has a breakdown of everything you need to know.

3 new PS Plus games to play this Memorial Day weekend (May 24-27)
Arthur Morgan in Red Dead Redemption 2.

Memorial Day is coming up, so you're probably wondering what games you should play on your PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5 over the holiday weekend. Lucky for you, a new batch of games were added to the PlayStation Plus Premium and Extra game catalog earlier this week, and it brought plenty of games well worth your time. Three in particular stand out to me; download them today and try them out over the next few days.

The first is a Western from Rockstar Games that needs little introduction and is a must-play if you haven't experienced it yet. The next is an open-world game that kick-started a new series for Ubisoft and turns 10 next week. Finally, a retro PlayStation 1 game that just came to PlayStation Plus Premium offers up a good time if you enjoy sports or racing games.

3 PS Plus free demos you should try this weekend (May 17-19)
Peter attacks enemies with the Symbiote Suit in Marvel's Spider-Man 2.

One of the most underrated features of PlayStation Plus Premium is the game trials that it offers. Although Sony does not put its AAA games on the service the day they release, it and several other third-party publishers offer up free demos that essentially give players full access to the game for a limited period of time. It's a great way to test a new game before you buy and it also gives you an excuse to try out a variety of different games this weekend without making the time commitment to beat them all. I looked through the full list of game trials that PlayStation Plus Premium offers and pinpointed three of the demos that are most worth your time.

The first is a two-hour demo for one of the PlayStation 5's biggest exclusives. The next will give you a two-hour taste of the latest fighting game in a long-running franchise. Finally, the one-hour trial of one of the year's best indies will get you hooked on the card-based roguelike that consumed my life for a bit.
