Pictures: Facebook app for iPad finally released

It’s been a long time coming, but the new Facebook app for the iPad is finally here. The app is now available to download for free from the iTunes app store, however at this time it is only available to some users, but should be available to everyone as soon as it fully rolls out on all Apple’s servers.

Along with all the standard features you would expect from a Facebook app like chat, notifications, search, status updates, and messaging , the new Facebook app for iPad takes full advantage of the larger screen real estate. Photos are larger and take up a big portion of the screen,  you can even play Facebook games in full-screen mode now.

Check out our screenshots of the new Facebook app above, and let us know what you think in the comments below.

I figured I could grab the 9th-gen for a decent discount now that it's on the way out -- and to Apple's credit, I absolutely could. But a realization began to sink in as I shopped, and I came away without making that final purchase.
