How to get Pokémon Scarlet and Violet: The Indigo Disk’s true ending

As the final piece of DLC for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet: The Indigo Disk will put a bow on your time in the Paldea region and generation nine as far as new story content goes. You can always go hunting down all the Legendaries and fill out your Pokédex with the new and old Pokémon that were added, but once the credits roll, that’s it.

Or is it? There’s one last thing you may have missed after finishing the DLC’s story that gives a final bit of closure to the story. Without going into spoilers, we’ll help your trainer finally see this adventure to its end by explaining how to get the true ending in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet: The Indigo Disk.

The first step will be to go through all the main story missions in The Indigo Disk and roll the credits. While that will lead most players to assume they’ve seen all the story there is, and the game doesn’t do much to suggest otherwise, there is more to discover. You are told to visit Professor Briar after the credits, and doing so will give you Briar’s Book. From there, however, you’re on your own.

Once you have this book, you need to travel back to Kitakami Island, the setting for The Teal Mask. Once here, head to the Crystal Pool location inside the volcano. As you are walking across the bridge, a cutscene will play that is the true ending to the DLC and the game as a whole. If you enjoyed the lore of these DLCs and were left a little unsatisfied, this scene does provide some satisfying answers.

Aside from the extra scene, you will also get a new title screen when booting up the game as a nice little reward for doing everything.

All Legendary Pokémon locations in Scarlet and Violet: The Indigo Disk
Three legendary Pokemon stand tall in Pokemon: The Teal Mask.

Even if you're not the type of trainer who wants to completely fill out their Pokédex, basically everyone is drawn to catching the Legendary Pokémon. These are some of the most powerful and iconic monsters in the series, and with the final DLC for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, called The Indigo Disk, adding in the last batch for generation nine, there's even more to hunt down around Blueberry Academy.

Unlike older titles where you just needed to go hunt down these majestic Pokémon, this time the process is a bit more complicated. Get your Pokéballs ready because we have some Legendaries to catch!
How to find every Legendary
Legendary monsters won't show up at all in The Indigo Disk until you've completed the main story and begun the postgame. Once you've rolled credits, head back to Blueberry Academy and speak to the Director to get a small tutorial on Special Coaches. Once that's over, he will also tell you about a mysterious man outside the academy. This is Snackworth, and will be the one to direct you to the Legendary creatures.

How to evolve Dipplin in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet: The Indigo Disk
A freshly evolved hydrapple in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

We had plenty of oddball Pokémon designs by the time we got to generation nine with Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, and they only get weirder with new evolutions. Applin, and its evolution, Dipplin, are the perfect examples of this, but The Indigo Disk DLC wasn't ready to move on from this fruity monster. Hydrapple is the new final form for this Pokémon and it has an oddly cryptic evolution method compared to most others, even Duraludon. It's a tall order, but this is what you need to do to evolve Dipplin in The Indigo Disk.
How to evolve Dipplin

Applin was included in the base Pokémon Scarlet and Violet game, but the first evolution was added in The Teal Mask DLC. If you didn't figure out how to reach that second form, all you need to do is feed one a Syrupy Apple item to trigger an evolution. These can be purchased for 500 Pokédollars at the Mossfell Confluence shop in Kitakami.

How to evolve Duraludon in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet The Indigo Disk
A duraladon about to evolve in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

The Pokémon Scarlet and Violet The Indigo Disk DLC isn't holding back on adding some new monsters to the mix -- or at the very least, new forms of existing ones. As seasoned trainers will know, not all evolutions come naturally, so to speak. This is true for Duraludon, who at first had no evolutions at all, but can now transform into the bridge-like form called Archaludon. None of your usual evolution tricks will work here, and you instead need to take advantage of a new item added in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet The Indigo Disk.

To give your towering dragon a new form, here's how you can evolve Duraludon.
