Aviary has been busy scoring several high-profile partnerships with the likes of Twitter, Flickr, Walgreens, and Yahoo to use its photo-editing tools. The company just announced that it’s partnering with Photobucket, a photo/video hosting and sharing site that had worked with Twitter before ending that relationship to branch out on its own to develop similar image-editing tools. According to TechCrunch, Aviary has more than 2,500 partners, 25 million-plus monthly users, and 2 billion edited photos.
As for its latest coup, Aviary said that Photobucket partnered with them because of the “robust and consistent cross-platform photo editing capabilities for its users.” Aviary added that its SDKs are native to the platforms they’re compatible with (iOS, Android, Windows Phone, and HTML5), which makes a strong product that’s easy to deploy with “a seamless and intuitive photo-editing experience.” In an interview with TechCrunch, Aviary’s new CEO, Tobias Peggs, said that the idea of partnership with Photobucket began when he reached out to friends for some insight and opinion after he joined the company; one of those friends happened to be Photobucket engineer Doug McCuen. After a beer and some discussion, the rest is history, as they say.
