Samsung officially announced that its latest compact system camera (CSC), the NX1100, has gone on sale, although details about the camera had already been released last month after info about it leaked onto the Web. What we do now know is that it’ll be priced at $600 (body) in the U.S. and will come bundled with a copy of Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4, a 20-50mm F/3.5-5.6 ED II lens, and an external flash.

The NX1100 isn’t a radical departure from the NX1000, hence the lack of fanfare from Samsung. It still uses a 20.3-megapixel CMOS sensor, captures 1080p Full HD video at 30 frames per second, has a 3-inch LCD, and has built-in Wi-Fi connectivity to the Web or smart device. Updates include a max ISO of 12,800. With the Smart Auto feature, the NX1100 is ideal for beginner folks stepping up from a point-and-shoot.

While there aren’t any big improvements over the outgoing NX1000, the addition of Lightroom is a nice plus, as the software alone sells for $149. The camera comes in black and white.
