For Nikon 1-series owners looking for a fast lens to add to their collection, Nikon has announced the 1 Nikkor 32mm f/1.2 fast medium-telephoto. Expanding the 1 Nikkor lens collection to nine options, the 32mm f/1.2 is the fastest in the lineup, great for shooting portraits with “strategically precise” image blur and bokeh, even in challenging light, says Nikon.
The 32mm f/1.2 lens – 86mm equivalent lens in 35mm format –is the first 1 Nikkor lens to feature a silent wave motor (SWM), manual focus ring for users to manually focus during autofocus mode, and a Nano Crystal Coat that “reduces instances of ghost and flare for optical image quality.” These features are typical of Nikkor FX and DX SLR lenses, but are making their way to the 1-series. The 32mm f/1.2 also has Nikon’s Close-Range Correction System, which gives the user “high resolution, realistic textures, and minimized aberration, even during close-up shooting.”
The lens will come in black or silver. At $900, it’s also Nikon’s most expensive 1-series Nikkor lens. Expect this glass to be in stores in June.
