A Time Warner Cable app heads to Xbox 360 this summer that makes 300 premium cable channels available on Microsoft’s game console, the two companies confirm. The app adds more live channels to the console than any other app on the system, including access to channels like AMC, BBC World News, Bravo, Cartoon Network, CNN, Comedy Central, Food Network, HGTV, and more, plus voice controls via Kinect. Like similar Xbox 360 apps, using it requires an Xbox Live Gold subscription.
“TWC TV is a significant addition to Xbox 360, bringing our customers their favorite entertainment in one place,” said Microsoft Media & Entertainment Group Corporate Vice President Blair Westlake.
Xbox Live Gold members can log in with their Time Warner Cable credentials directly on their consoles. It sounds intriguing, but the app still requires users to have a cable box, a Time Warner Cable representative confirmed to Digital Trends.
