Check out our review of the Nocs NS900 headphones.
Nocs, one of our favorite purveyors of high-end headphones, announced today the release of its brand new DJ headphones, the Nocs NS900. A labor of love for the company that’s the result of two years of research and cultivation, the minimalist-styled NS900 are a closed-ear design built around a PVD-coated stainless steel chassis, promising high performance sound and the durability to stand-up to the grittiest nightclub environment.
The NS900 offer highly-customized 40mm titanium drivers, meticulously voiced by the sound experts at Nocs. The headphones come with a trio of removable locking cables, including a coiled DJ-style cable, a 3-button iOS-compatible cable, and a single-button Android compatible cable. Also in the box is a 1/4-inch adapter and a carrying pouch for the DJ on the move. Nocs claims many of the components on the ‘phones are replaceable, including the interchangeable ear pads, which also suggests there could potentially be different ear pad styles available down the line as the NS900 roll out.
Normally we’re pretty skeptical about marketing hype such as Nocs’ bold claim that the NS900 are the “gold standard for all things audio” – and we definitely still are. That being said, we’ve had a pretty good run with the Nocs ‘phones we’ve auditioned in the past, so we’re excited to see what these babies have to offer. We’ve got a pair on the way, so we’ll let you know whether the NS900 live up to their bold billing soon.
The new Nocs NS900 are priced at $250, and are available now.
