The new Nexus 10 could appear any day now, according to a new rumor

A couple of what are apparently press renders for the upcoming Nexus 10 (2013) tablet leaked over the weekend, and, if genuine, add more weight to the suggestion that Korean tech company LG will manufacture Google’s large-size 10.1-inch slate. Calling on LG to produce the tablet would mark a move away from Samsung, which has been responsible for the manufacture of the first-generation Nexus 10 since it hit the market in November last year.

LG, meanwhile, is responsible for knocking together the Nexus 5 phone, though Asus makes the Nexus 7 slate for Google.

The bottom image, which admittedly looks pretty crude but supposedly comes from Spanish broadband and telecommunications provider Telefonica (via a disgruntled employee), shows a thinner bezel, what looks to be a front-facing speaker, and Android 4.4’s Google Experience launcher, first seen on the new Nexus 5. There’s a price tag too, showing £300 (about $482) – presumably this refers to the cellular version.

The second image (above), which also appeared on Reddit but has since been taken down, comes with the impossible-to-miss LG logo. The folks at Phone Arena reported that text that appeared on the now-removed webpage showing the image revealed the tablet will hit the market on November 22 – that’s Friday this week – in both black and white flavors.

If other recent leaks and rumors turn out to be correct, Google’s largest tablet is expected to launch with a 2560 x 1600 pixel resolution – matching that of the current version – 3GB of RAM and possibly a Snapdragon 800 processor.

An 8-megapixel camera could also be on the cards. If so, this would be a step up from the 5-megapixel shooter found on the existing Nexus 10.

The suggested November 22 launch date is certainly a possibility, and would be just over a year since the arrival of the original model. Google will surely want to have it on the market in time for the holiday season, and leaving it much later would certainly risk missing out on sales.

If you’re interested in laying your hands on the new Nexus 10, hopefully there’ll be some news before the week’s out.

Prime Day arrives early for the shiny new Apple iPad 10.2 (2020)
iPad (2020)

Officially, Prime Day 2020 doesn’t land until October 13, but Amazon is famous for priming us for the big day by leaking out some awesome preview sales as it approaches. Some evidence dropped this morning, with the price of the iPad 10.2 on Amazon, at $30 off. That means you can get a new eighth-generation iPad 10.2 for $300, down from its original price of $330. Apple products never last long once they’ve been discounted, so if you’re in the market for an iPad, ump on this opportunity to grab the latest.

Whether you’re updating an older iPad, looking to sidestep from a laptop to an iPad for your home/work balance, or just finally want to get your hands on the best tablet out there, the iPad 10.2 has a ton to offer. What the iPad 10.2 doesn’t have in storage space (less relevant than ever due to the constant availability of Wi-Fi and access to the cloud) it makes up for in amazing features and design. At the same time, accessories for the iPad -- like the Smart Keyboard and Apple pencil -- have made it so that, functionally, your tablet can serve as a laptop, and more, at a moment’s notice. It’s something really important to keep in mind while browsing the iPad Deals we’ve collected. A tablet might take care of all your computing needs.

iPad 10.2
— $250, was $330

The standard iPad’s bezels are still obscenely large (slimming them down would have made it look a tad more contemporary), but this tablet now boasts a bigger 10.2-inch screen compared to the previous model’s 9.7-inch display. In comparison, Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S6’s trimmed bezels look fetchingly modern, and so do those of the iPad Pro. None of this means that the iPad feels cheap, though. It has a nice substantial weight to it, plus it sports a 100% recycled aluminum enclosure, which is good for the environment. Instead of Face ID, which remains exclusive to the iPad Pro and the latest iPhones, you get Touch ID, although that’s not exactly a deal-breaker for most users. What sets this apart from the older iPad 9.7 is support for the Smart Connector so you can use it with Apple’s Smart Keyboard (sold separately).
