Game publisher Sierra Online has come up with a new way for players to putter away their time, in the form of 3D Ultra Minigolf Adventures, available for Windows PCs and for Xbox 360 owners via Xbox Live Arcade.
The game aims to bring the all-ages fun of miniature golf to the screen, offering bizarre obstacles and imaginative holes filled with power-ups, secret shortcuts, and a selection of four animated characters (two girls and two boys). The game features three disinct courses: Classic Carnival, built around wild rides, sideshow sights, and that eat-til-you’re-ill sitcky sweet candy, Old West with immense canyons and wily critters, and Outer Space which…well, you can guess moons and rocketships are involved. Avid minigolfers can build their own courses with a customizable course creator which enables users to make their own combinations of tees, straitaways, corners, cups, junctions, and ramps. The game also supports multiplayer contests online or via Xbox Live Arcade.
“3D Ultra Minigolf Adventures provides players with a fresh and entertaining take on a family-favorite activity with truly new-gen production values,” said Sierra Online president Ed Zobrist in a release. “Not only can gamers take on three original environments full of surprises with every putt, but they can customize and create new courses to play on their own or to challenge their friends.”
Amusingly enough, 3D Ultra Minigolf Adventures is developed by Wanako Games, the same studio which developed the award-winning Assault Heroes.
3D Ultra Minigolf Adventures for Xbox 360 will be priced at 800 Microsoft Points, and can earn players up to 200 Gamerscore points and 12 Achievements. The Windows version is available now at online game retailers at a suggested price of $19.99. 3D Ultra Minigolf Adventures is rated E for “Everyone” by the ESRB.
