Hard Boiled Packaged With Stranglehold

Developers are finally figuring out what to do with the Playstation 3’s spacious 50GB Blu-ray discs: Throw some recycled content on there and charge more for it. Midway and Sony announced a collector’s edition of the upcoming game Stranglehold on Thursday, which will include a high-definition version of John Woo’s Hard Boiled, the film that serves as the inspiration for the game. The collector’s edition will retail for $69.99, $10 more than the regular version of the game is expected to sell for.

"The exclusive collector’s edition of Stranglehold demonstrates the power of PlayStation 3 Blu-ray disc and the total entertainment experience that can only be found on PlayStation 3,” said Riley Russell, general counsel for Sony Computer Entertainment Amercia, in a statement. “The 50GB capacity of Blu-ray disc allows PS3 content publishers to do things simply not possible on our competitor’s 9GB DVD-based systems. Thanks to the advanced technology found in PS3, developers like Midway can truly realize their visions, bringing consumers even closer to the game.”

Stranglehold is scheduled for release on the PS3 in August, along with its counterparts for the Xbox 360 and PC, which will cost $59.99 and $49.99, respectively. A DVD version of Hard Boiled will also be coming out independently of the game on July 24, from the Dragon Dynasty DVD label.

Razer Orochi V2 review: A gaming pedigree in a shockingly light package
The Razer Orochi V2 wireless gaming mouse in white standing straight on a desk.

Generally, when Razer updates its mice, very few changes are visible to the naked eye, in part due to the original designs already being so great. Just look at the DeathAdder. But when Razer revealed the new Orochi V2 to me, I noticed something striking about the design: It looks nothing like the original.

The original Orochi is Razer’s mobile wireless gaming mouse that offers a compact design with light weight and a pretty good sensor. This new V2 version of the mouse sticks to that basic recipe, but it massively changes the shape, cuts out the RGB, upgrades the sensor to a mighty 18,000 DPI eye, and throws in a HyperSpeed wireless connection. Will this make it one of the best gaming mice you can buy? Let's find out.
What have we got under the hood?
