Microsoft Brings Users NYC in 3-D

Microsoft is bringing the Big Apple to your Apple… or any computer for that matter. The company announced on Tuesday that it would begin offering three-dimensional views of New York City in its Live Search maps. Of course, Google beat Microsoft to the punch by a matter of years on this one with Google Earth, but Microsoft plans to launch 3-D views in a number of other cities as well, some of which aren’t available in the extra dimension on Google Earth, which could bring the company up to speed and then some.

In addition to aerial views of locations like Times Square and Rockefeller Center, Microsoft’s map of New York City will feature business listings with the built-in capability for user reviews and ratings. The maps will also offer the standard option for directions, but add real-time traffic accidents to help commuters figure out what sections of the city to avoid. Users will also be able to create their own custom maps with pegged items of personal relevance. They can use them for their own convenience, or share with others.

Microsoft will also be adding 3-D maps of:

  • Austin, Texas
  • Cape Coral, Fla.
  • Cincinnati, Ohio
  • Indianapolis, Ind., including the Indianapolis Motor Speedway
  • Northampton, England
  • Ottawa. Canada
  • Savannah, Ga.
  • Tampa, Fla.

New maps are slated to roll out throughout the day on Tuesday.

The best motherboard for the Ryzen 7 7800X3D is cheaper than you think
AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D installed in a motherboard.

Arguably the best thing about the AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D is its affordability. It's the best gaming processor in the world (even better than the 14900KS) and yet you can buy it for around $350, so why ruin that affordability with an expensive motherboard? While there is an argument to be made that you'll maximize its performance with a top-tier board, that's not a necessity and, in fact, you can get most of what you need with a more modest buy.

Instead of paying through the nose, get this great motherboard and use the money you save to get something else. Like a faster graphics card, or a bigger SSD.
