A newcomer to the market for home entertainment products launched a unique iPod dock as one of its initial offerings on Wednesday. Bexy’s iMirror Wireless Remote Control Docking Station allows users to dock their iPod with a home stereo system, then control it from afar with a remote that actually displays the iPod’s content data onscreen.

The iMirror works by loading all of the iPod’s title information into the remote as soon as it has been docked. After syncing, users can browse the contents of their iPods on the remote’s LCD screen, and queue up songs from up to 150 feet away. Although hooking an iMirror up for music is its most obvious use, it can also display slideshows or movies on a TV with its S-video or RCA video output.

When the iMirror isn’t in use, the remote can be returned to its cradle in the black and white base station to recharge its lithium-ion battery. Users’ iPods will also charge when left in the iMirror.

The iMirror is available immediately from Bexy’s Web site for $149.99.

There's good news for folks who routinely misplace their AirPods: Thanks to iOS 15 and a firmware update that started rolling out on October 6, your iPhone can guide you to within a foot or so of your missing true wireless buds. The new capability is baked into Apple's Find My app and works with the AirPods Pro and AirPods Max, but not Apple's regular AirPods.

In the past, if you wanted to locate your missing AirPods, your iPhone could certainly point you to their last known location, and even provide directions on a map. But when it came time to actually locating that errant earbud, all you could do was trigger the "play sound" feature and hope that they weren't buried so deeply in between the couch cushions that you wouldn't be able to hear them. Now, the Find My app can give you a radar-like interface that actually guides you toward your headphones using a three-level proximity indicator.

Apple’s next AirPods Pro could possibly be controlled with your tongue

A newly granted patent spotted by PatentlyApple suggests that a future version of Apple's AirPods or AirPods Pro could be controlled through a series of gestures, none of which would involve touching the earbuds themselves. U.S. patent No. US010873798, titled "Detecting Through-Body Inputs At A Wearable Audio Device," describes in detail the ways in which a few extra sensors embedded within a set of true wireless earbuds could be used to detect signals that originate within the wearer's body.

These signals could be almost any kind of movement that someone can generate with parts of their body. Taps, swipes, or presses could be done with a finger placed against a forearm or a cheek. But these gestures aren't limited to what we can do with our limbs. The patent also suggests that the clicking of teeth or the tongue, or even subvocalizations, could ultimately be used to control the various features of the true wireless earbuds.

I've never cared much for my home theater setup. In fact, I own a six-year-old LG LED television paired with a soundbar. And if that sounds bad, just know that it’s a 3D TV too. That’s all there is to it. Not only is it now part of my home theater setup, but it’s replaced my soundbar for those movie-watching sessions. I never intended for this to happen, but after experiencing the HomePod mini work its magic, I’m convinced it’s a solution for those looking to elevate their audio experience.
How to connect HomePod mini to Apple TV
In order for this to happen, you’ll need a couple of things. First is an Apple TV because the HomePod mini doesn’t have an auxiliary input jack to accept audio from other sources. The Apple TV is necessary to send and sync audio to the speakers.
