Ever since Nintendo revitalized the concept of mini games with Wii Sports, developers have seemingly leapt at the chance to include multiple small games in one title on the Wii platform. Hudson Entertainment will be the latest to use that formula with Deca Sports, set for release in summer 2008. The game will include ten different sports: beach volleyball, snowboard cross, badminton, basketball, curling, figure skating, archery, supercross, soccer and kart racing.
“With Deca Sports we wanted to offer a sports package that is unrivaled in terms of sheer number of available sports,” said Hudson CEO John Greiner. “More importantly, the game is easy to play, but offers layers of depth that even hardcore sports enthusiasts will love to play.”
All ten sports will offer single player and multiplayer gameplay, as well as training and practice modes. And in case you were wondering how exactly the company managed to make a game out of figure skating, playing will involve keeping pace with music and timing jumps and spins accordingly. Guitar Hero on ice, anyone?
