Magellan Gets Primordial Off-road Routing

GPS maker Magellan has announced a partnership with Primordial Inc., to bring Primordial’s Ground Guidance software to future Magellan Triton GPS units. Primordial’s Ground Guidance enables users to plug-in regional content packs to their GPS units to implement off-road routing capabilities, avoiding dense forests, lakes, rivers, and other natural and man-made obstacles to find a route between two points without connecting roads. Ground Guidance is the result of over six years of development, and received more than $2 million in funding from the U.S. Army.

Honor gets a new start in life after embattled Huawei sells off the brand

Huawei has sold the Honor technology brand in an effort to ensure its survival. Huawei and Honor have both been hit by component supply restraints due to the U.S. government’s continued restrictions, with Huawei saying it has been “under tremendous pressure” recently.

All Honor business assets have been sold to Shenzhen Zhixin New Information Technology Co. Ltd, and when the sale is final, Huawei will not be involved in the business or decision-making process at the new firm.
