Garmin Navigation is Ford Tough

Garmin Navigation is Ford Tough

They say business is always on the go—and now, it may actually have a chance of knowing where it’s going. At the Chicago Auto Show today, auto manufacturer Ford announced it will be offering Garmin navigation products in its F-150, F-Series Super Duty pickup trucks, and E-Series commercial vans, in a bid to make the vehicles more appealing to businesses.

Under the deal, Garmin will provide the navigation component for Ford Work Solutions, a collection of technologies designed to bring new in-vehicle capabilities that appeal to business users, including an in-dash computer with high-speed Internet access, a customized database of Ford dealerships and Quick Lane Tire & Auto Ceneers, and real-time information on weather, fuel prices, traffic conditions, and more. Garmin’s navigation solution will offer the same "Where to?" and "View map" touchscreen interfaces on its standalone navigation devices, including hands-free voice-prompted navigation.

Ford Work Solutions will be available this fall on 2009 model F-150 and F-Series Super Duty trucks, and E-Series commercial vans; in mid-2009, the technology will also appear in Ford’s Transit Connect vans.

The new wearable is the HRM-Fit, and it is specifically designed for women, with a unique clip-on design that easily attaches to sports bras.

The HRM-Fit is designed with comfort in mind, hence the clip-on design that attaches to the bottom band of a sports bra. It will attach to both medium- and high-support sports bras for maximum comfort while continuing to accurately capture real-time heart rate and training data. Since it clips on, it remains out of the way during exercise and training, letting you move freely without worry.

Garmin is going into 2024 and CES with a "new year, new me" approach, and that is made evident by a huge redesign for its Garmin Connect app. The new interface will deliver a simplified experience, and device wearers will be encouraged to pick out the specific elements they want on their Connect homepage.

Garmin Connect is the bridge between your Garmin smartwatch or fitness tracker and your smartphone. While your wearable can keep you up to date with your latest stats and activities, you want the larger screen of your smartphone to really dive deeper into analysis.
