Next month, Marvel and ABC are joining forces to air a behind-the-scenes look at the upcoming Marvel movies currently in production, including Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Avengers: Age of Ultron, according to EW. The hour-long event will discuss the making of each film, and give us our first look at the eagerly anticipated Avengers sequel.
The event is described as “front row seat to the inception of Marvel Studios, the record-breaking films, the cultural phenomenon, and further expansion of the universe by Marvel Television.”
A Marvel event like this airing on ABC is no surprise, and we’ll likely see more of it in the future, since both companies are owned by Disney. The timing is no doubt partly an effort to help raise the profile of Marvel and ABC’s series, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., which has seen its audience steadily decrease following a huge debut (although recent viewership is on a slight uptick).
The event, titled, Marvel Studios: Assembling a Universe, will air on Tuesday, March 18 at 8 p.m. EST. It will then be followed by an as yet unannounced episode of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
