Relatively unknown German notebook maker Cizmo announced one of the first Intel-Montevina-equipped notebooks on Tuesday, the CX15. Besides sporting Intel’s latest mobile performance processor, also known as the Centrino 2, the CX15 will include a high-end graphics card, and a slick black design.
Cizmo will option the CX15 with Montevina processors running at 2.26GHz (P8400), 2.4GHz (P8600) and 2.53GHz (P9400). All offer the same high-speed 1066Mhz front-side bus. For graphics, the CX15 gets Nvidia’s GeForce 8800M GTX 512MB card, which offers dual-view display capability and HDCP support.
Other features include a 15.4-inch display, 2GB of DDR3 RAM that can be expanded to 4GB, an eSATA port for adding fast external drives, 7-in-1 card reader, and 2-megapixel webcam. A Blu-ray drive will also be available as an upgrade, although a CD/DVD combo drive will come standard.
The company lists the computer for €1,259.66 ($1,996) before taxes of 19 percent, which bring it right up to an even €1,499 ($2,386). The CX15 is available for pre-order now, but will begin shipping around June 13, after Intel formally introduces the new platform.
