Sierra Online has launched Assault Heroes 2, a sequel to award-winning arcade shooter game Assault Heroes it previously developed for the Xbox 360 and distributed exclusively via Microsoft’s Xbox Live Arcade service. Developed by Wanako Studios, the release marks the first time a game developed for Xbox Live Arcade has spawned a sequel, and the new installment promised players a series of new action-packed battles, new enemies, and a swath of new environments—including outer space.
“Assault Heroes 2 has a lot to live up to and gamers won’t be disappointed because this sequel takes the arcade shooter to a whole new level,” said Sierra Online VP of marketing Nicole Perez, in a statement. “Wanako has created a game that goes above and beyond the high standards set by the hugely successful, original title.”
The new game features extended on-foot skirmishes, a broad selection of new powerful weapons, and extensive new underground areas. Players will also get to tap into new vehicles—including spacecraft—and even hijack enemy rides.
Assault Heroes 2 costs 800 Microsoft Points, and is rated T for “Teen” by the ESRB.
