From a stethoscope to a stun gun, there’s no denying the increased quirkiness and arguable usefulness that these iPhone cases bring to the table. However, what if you wanted to buff up every time you picked up your iPhone for whatever reason? Enter the ToneFone.

Simply put, the ToneFone is a dumbbell. It is made from 100 percent British steel that feels nice thanks to the rubber coating. You can choose between a 1-kilogram (2.2 pounds) or a 1.5-kilogram (3.3 pounds) variant of the case for $38 or $42, respectively. Unfortunately, both options are only available in white. If you’re looking for more color options, gold and space grey versions should be available in June.

Speaking of availability, if you thought that no one would buy the ToneFone, you might want to rethink that. According to an update on ToneFone’s product page, the initial batch sold out. You can still, however, pre-order it and expect it to arrive at your doorstep sometime in April, though if you live in the U.S., you’ll have to fork over $11.50 more to cover shipping costs.

The ToneFone is fitted for the iPhone 5 and 5S and doesn’t obscure access to the charging port or headphone jack, though you would be unwise to use it with any iPhone stand.

The back of a Natural Titanium iPhone 15 Pro Max.

Apple is the only major name in the world of Big Tech that hasn’t made its ambitious AI plans public yet. But that will change in a few weeks, with a focus on reimagining the iPhone experience. Bloomberg, citing internal sources, has detailed how Apple plans to integrate generative AI experiences with iOS 18, the next major build of its iPhone operating system.

The company plans to push new AI-powered capabilities not just in such in-house apps as Safari and Maps, but also in experiences like the notification system and a supercharged Spotlight search. Notably, Apple will push the bulk of AI processing to the iPhone’s silicon, and only a minor portion of it will be pushed to the cloud.
