LifeBook N7010 Adds Mini Touch Display

Mini touch screens aren’t just conquering the face of every hot smart phone to come out in the past year, they’re also making an appearance on notebooks now. On Tuesday, Fujitsu debuted its LifeBook N7010, a notebook that adds a pint-sized touch screen above the keyboard.

The 4-inch display serves as a complement to the notebook’s much larger (and non-touch-enabled) 16-inch screen. It can be used as a picture frame for slide shows, an application launched, or even a set of soft controls for the notebook’s built-in Blu-ray player.

Other specs on the N7010 include a 2.26GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, ATI Radeon HD 3470 graphics card, and durability features like a removable dust filter, spill-resistant keyboard and shock-mounted hard drive. There are also eSATA and HDMI ports, along with a Memory Stick/SD slot.

The N7010 will be available directly through Fujitsu’s direct sales Web site on Nov. 11 for $1,500.

A dangerous new jailbreak for AI chatbots was just discovered
the side of a Microsoft building

Microsoft has released more details about a troubling new generative AI jailbreak technique it has discovered, called "Skeleton Key." Using this prompt injection method, malicious users can effectively bypass a chatbot's safety guardrails, the security features that keeps ChatGPT from going full Taye.

Skeleton Key is an example of a prompt injection or prompt engineering attack. It's a multi-turn strategy designed to essentially convince an AI model to ignore its ingrained safety guardrails, "[causing] the system to violate its operators’ policies, make decisions unduly influenced by a user, or execute malicious instructions," Mark Russinovich, CTO of Microsoft Azure, wrote in the announcement.
