EA Sports UFC Career and Online Modes Revealed

Electronic Arts has released details of the career and online modes in its upcoming EA Sports UFC. Starting with in-depth creation tools that let you customize your fighter’s size, appearance and style (and even give them your own face), career mode will take you from amateur nobody to the top of the professional league, leveling up along the way with new skills. In addition to recognizable stars, the league will also be populated with over 200 “CPU generated fighters” that will also be fighting each other and leveling up, adding an extra degree of dynamic continuity to your career.

On top of career mode, EA Sports UFC also features a host of new online modes. Online Championships let you prove your mettle against the world’s best for coveted belts. Those looking for something a little more personal can form one-on-one Online Rivalries, which tracks head-to-head stats and provides in-depth analysis to settle any doubts between friends about who’s the best. All of this will be filtered through FighterNet, a social hub that tracks and compares stats, share highlights, and provides access to new content as it’s rolled out.

EA Sports UFC is set for release on June 17 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and it is now available for pre-order, which unlocks day one access to Bruce Lee.

EA acquires Super Mega Baseball studio as it doubles down on sports games

EA has acquired Metalhead Software, the studio behind the Super Mega Baseball series, as the video game developer doubles down on sports games.

Metalhead Software, an independent studio, most recently developed and published Super Mega Baseball 3. The game was a hit with critics that gained a niche following last summer. EA Sports Executive Vice President Cam Weber says that the deal will help the developer grow its brand of sports game.
