Fujifilm announced a new firmware update for its X-E2 mirrorless camera that gives users improved performance and other additional features.

With this update, Fujifilm brings the extremely low lag time of the X-T1’s electronic viewfinder (EVF) to the X-E2, which now has a lag time of 0.005 seconds. The update also enhances the frame rate of the EVF – the highest frame rate is maintained while in low-light conditions, giving X-E2 users a seamless Live View through the camera’s lens.

The firmware also adds red or blue to the selectable colors in focus peaking, increased options for the camera’s Fn (function) and AE/AF buttons, and a new suppressed flash option that keeps the flash from firing when the subject or environment is poorly lit.
