Battlefield: Hardline Beta is live today on PS4 and PC

In the most immediately exciting revelation of its E3 presentation, EA has announced that the beta for its upcoming cops vs. robbers shooter, Battlefield: Hardline is live now for PS4 and PC gamers. You can sign up for the closed beta now on the Hardline website. The site notes that there are limited spots available, so try to get on the list quickly if you want to ensure a beta key.

To satiate Xbox One, 360, and PS3 players, selecting one of those platforms on the beta site will grant access to some exclusive goodies when the game officially launches in the fall, including additional content and gear in Battlefield: Hardline and a unique dogtag for Battlefield 4.

Battlefield: Hardline was leaked last month and is the first entry in the series not developed by DICE, but instead by Dead Space creators Visceral Games. EA has promised that support will continue for Battlefield 4 in the foreseeable future. Hardline launches on Xbox One, 360, PS3, PS4, and PC on October 21, 2014.

Players have mixed reviews about the Battlefield 2042 open beta. While some were impressed by several of the game's new features, others were left feeling cheated, as if they were expecting something more groundbreaking. The Battlefield Community Manager took to Twitter, explaining that the beta we all played was a "few months old" and the team is already addressing several reported issues. With rumors of a March release put to bed, Battlefield 2042 will release on November 19. Battlefield 2042 gets some key changes following beta feedback

Following Battlefield 2042's recent beta, the game's developers are implementing some changes based on player feedback. These changes range from small details, like edits to the game's UI, to larger ones, including an increase in the number of tanks players will find on the map Orbital.

Today's changes were revealed in a blog post on EA's website, along with a new trailer showing off Battlefield 2042's remaining five specialists. The game's specialists are also receiving some changes. While the post says that players were concerned about how specialists were "limiting teamwork" it isn't immediately clear how they'll be different once the game launches. One specific change is coming to Maria Falck, the specialist who can heal players from a distance with her syringe gun. The syringes now magnetize toward friendly troops, making it easier to heal targets.
