Don’t lose your Gear Live or G Watch charger: You can’t buy a new one

The Samsung Gear Live and LG G Watch are just in the beginning of their respective lifespans, and there is already one big issue that, based on frustrated commenters on Reddit, has yet to be remedied: the lack of replacement charging cradles.

Rather than installing a Micro USB port into the Gear Live and G Watch, Samsung and LG opted to use proprietary docks that then plug into a standard Micro USB cable. However, according to several posts on Reddit, losing or breaking either cradle will leave you extremely frustrated because neither company offers replacement cradles. When we reviewed the Gear Live, we lost the charging cradle for it, and while we were lucky enough to get a replacement, it’s obvious that not everyone is so lucky.

LG has yet to comment on the issue, though a Samsung representative told Android Police that affected customers “can contact Samsung Customer Care for support.” According to the representative, Samsung will sell charging cradles through its own online portal and through Best Buy, but no timetable was given.

In the meantime, we suggest you put on your kid gloves when dealing with the Gear Live’s and G Watch’s charging cradles.

Samsung has announced new special-edition models of the Galaxy S22 Ultra and the Galaxy Watch 4 this week. As with most of the company's more extravagant Galaxy collaborations, both are Korea-exclusive devices. That limited availability isn't surprising, but when these special editions feature such appealing designs and extras, we can't help but wish they were more widely available.

The most exclusive special edition is the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra. Already a very handsome and well-received phone, Samsung is collaborating with Blizzard to launch a tie-in model with the Diablo Immortal game. Korean publication Yonhap reports that this Diablo Immortal package comes with the Galaxy S22 Ultra you'd expect, a leather mousepad, a map, a Blizzard-designed lenticular image, a phone case, a wireless charging pad, a Blizzard Battlecoin card, a Spigen grip case, and a wooden box that holds the whole package. Lenovo’s cool new gaming phone leaked, but you can’t buy it

Created in response to Asus’ popular ROG Phone series, Lenovo Legio- branded smartphones have been well-received in China and compete against the likes of similarly themed products from Black Shark and RedMagic. The company’s next-generation gaming smartphone, the Legion Y90, has been in the news for quite some time and is now the subject of additional leaks.
