Netflix changed the world of streaming video when the company turned towards original programming, earning multiple Primetime Emmy nominations and awards for House of Cards and Orange is the New Black, and bringing some bankable legitimacy to the medium. The company’s latest endeavor to turn heads is a new drama/thriller called Bloodline, which debuted its first full trailer this week.
Created by Emmy-nominated writers/producers Todd A. Kessler, Daniel Zelman, and Glenn Kessler, who all worked on the hit series Damages, the new show follows several generations of a Florida family whose lives are thrown into disarray when eldest son Danny (Ben Mendelsohn) returns home and threatens to expose the family’s darkest secrets. Along with Mendelsohn, the series stars Kyle Chandler (Friday Night Lights), Linda Cardellini (Mad Men), Sam Shepard (The Right Stuff), and Sissy Spacek (Carrie).
The tagline for the series is appropriately cryptic: “We’re not bad people, but we did a bad thing.”
All 13 episodes of Bloodline will debut Friday, March 20, on Netflix, and will be made available in 4K.
Netflix also released a poster for the series, which you can check out below:
