Portions of the scene have been featured in previous trailers, but thanks to this new extended version, most of that scene is available to watch online in all of its physics-defying — but thoroughly entertaining — glory.
The extended scene debuted during this week’s premiere of the USA television series Dig. It clocks in at just under three minutes of high-octane footage from the highly-anticipated seventh installment of the franchise, which has much of the cast returning for yet another high-speed adventure. This time around, Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel), Brian O’Conner (Paul Walker), and the rest of the team reunite to avenge the murder of one of their own, with some help from their old pal, CIA Agent Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson).
The movie is particularly notable for finding creative ways to keep Walker’s character integrated in the story after the actor died in a tragic offset-accident midway through production on the film. A mix of body and facial doubles (including Walker’s own brothers) and digital effects were used to retain his character’s place in the film.
Along with Walker, Diesel, and Johnson, the film also brings back Michelle Rodriguez (Avatar), Jordana Brewster (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning), Tyrese Gibson (Transformers), Chris “Ludacris” Bridges (New Year’s Eve), Elsa Pataky (Where the Road Meets the Sun), and Lucas Black (Friday Night Lights). Newcomers to the franchise in this installment include Jason Statham (The Transporter), Tony Jaa (Ong-Bak), Nathalie Emmanuel (Game of Thrones), and Djimon Hounsou (Guardians of the Galaxy), and even veteran actor Kurt Russell.
