While many of the recent previews for Avengers: Age of Ultron have focused on Iron Man, Hulk, and the film’s android villain, Ultron, the latest teaser for the upcoming Marvel Studios movie offers quite a bit more footage of some of the other characters getting in on the action next month — particularly Scarlett Johansson’s superheroic super-spy, Black Widow.

The new television spot for the film debuted on IMDb.com, and mixes some of the previously seen footage with extended versions of several scenes, including a pair of sequences in which the iconic shield typically wielded by Captain America (Chris Evans) is put to use by some of his teammates. In one scene, Thor (Chris Hemsworth) bats the shield into a crowd of robotic Ultron clones, while another features Black Widow putting her own spin on how best to use the shield as a weapon.

The trailer also shows Johansson’s character coming to the assistance of Captain America as he battles with Ultron, scooping up the discarded shield and showing some impressive motorcycle skills in the process.

The sequel to the most successful superhero movie in Hollywood history, Avengers: Age of Ultron features the return of franchise stars Robert Downey, Jr. as Tony “Iron Man” Stark, Mark Ruffalo as Hulk, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, along with the aforementioned returning cast members Johansson, Evans, and Hemsworth. Age of Ultron chronicles the dangerous events that transpire when Tony Stark’s attempt to create an artificially intelligent peacekeeping program goes horribly wrong and instead spawns a powerful new enemy bent on eradicating humanity from the planet.

Along with the return of supporting cast members Don Cheadle as James “War Machine” Rhodes, Cobie Smulders as S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Maria Hill, and Stellan Skarsgård as Erik Selvig, the film features James Spader as the voice of Ultron, as well as Elizabeth Olsen as The Scarlet Witch, Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Quicksilver, and Paul Bettany as Vision.

Avengers: Age of Ultron is written and directed by Joss Whedon, and hits theaters May 1, 2015.

3 underrated (HBO) Max movies you should watch this weekend (June 28-30)
A girl looks at a boy in House at the End of the Street.

June is surprisingly over, and with it, a great month for movies comes to a satisfactory close. You've probably watched Inside Out 2 or Bad Boys: Ride or Die or maybe even The Bikeriders. From blockbusters to indie fare, the theatrical movie business has been robust and healthy.

The same goes for streaming. Netflix had a big hit with Richard Linklater's Hit Man, while Amazon Prime Video recently premiered the latest bonkers season of The Boys. HBO and Max have been quieter, but their robust library speaks volumes to the streamer's high quality. The following three films are older, but are just as worth your time as new hits like House of the Dragon season 2.

The best Netflix original series right now
Eric and Benedict Cumberbatch in Eric.

The era of Peak TV was also Peak Netflix, because the streamer seemingly had an endless supply of new original series. So far in 2024, that hasn't been the case. Whether we'll ever get the same level of content again seems unlikely for now. But even in a reduced capacity, Netflix still has a few new additions to its lineup of originals.

For the month of June, we're adding the '80s-set thriller, Eric, which stars Benedict Cumbebatch. Our other pick for the month is Supacell, which is Netflix's new British series that remixes some old superhero archetypes. That's not a very big selection for fans who always want something new, but this roundup of the best Netflix original series really does have all of the top options in one place for you. All you have to do is scroll down and make time to binge watch some shows.
