Are you in the market for a 20-inch rugged Windows tablet with a 4K display that will make you wish you had a stronger pair of prescription glasses to see everything? Well, you’re in luck, because Panasonic just updated its Toughpad 4K Windows tablet to include a new processor and a new port.
The updated tablet now includes a fifth-generation Intel Core i5 vPro processor, a step up from the original’s fourth-generation chipset. In addition, the Toughpad 4K now includes an HDMI 2.0 port, allowing would-be buyers to hook up the tablet to a wide assortment of peripherals. Panasonic also announced an optional desktop cradle that lets you use the Toughpad 4K as a desktop PC.
As its name implies, the Toughpad 4K is rugged enough to absorb a five-foot drop while also packing an absolutely ludicrous, yet impressive, 20-inch 3,840 x 2,560 LCD display in a 15:10 aspect ratio. You can probably imagine this tablet isn’t for everyone by just looking at the $3,000 price tag, a decrease from the original’s $6,000, and you’d be right; only people in certain fields, such as video editing and design, need apply.
The Panasonic Toughpad 4K will be available sometime this July.
