How you do tempt millions of streaming music subscribers away from competing services and on to your own? If you’re Apple, you land a few exclusives with some of the biggest names in music: The company has announced Dr. Dre’s Beats 1 radio show will premiere today, while also debuting a new video for Eminem’s latest single.

We already knew that Dre would be one of the DJs appearing on the Beats 1 radio station associated with Apple Music, but thanks to an official tweet we now know the show — called The Pharmacy — will appear later today, July 4, at 3 p.m. PDT. It’s going to appear every week at the same time too, so if you’re a Dre fan then Saturday’s the day to get your fix.
The rapper and producer is now an Apple executive after the Cupertino company picked up Beats Electronics for a cool $3 billion around this time last year, and he’s obviously happy to help out new pal Tim Cook with a regular slot on Apple Music’s flagship online radio station. “The hip-hop visionary is joined by a cast of characters who bring the West Coast to the world,” says the Apple Music Tumblr.
Eminem — who is signed to Dre’s record label — has also been busy promoting Apple Music, and the video for his new single Phenomenal has now arrived as an Apple Music exclusive. This time Apple used an Instagram post to break the news, and you can find the full seven-minute video (officially described as a “music film”) by going to Eminem’s artist page and scrolling down to the videos section.
Whether these exclusive pieces of content and celebrity endorsements will be enough to get Apple Music up off the ground remains to be seen, but it gives us plenty to check out while we’re all trying out the free three-month trial. If you don’t want Apple to automatically start your subscription when the free trial ends, here’s now to turn off auto-renew.
