FX announces fall premiere dates for AHS: Hotel, The Bastard Executioner, and Fargo

FX’s fall premiere dates for American Horror Story: Hotel, The Bastard Executioner, and Fargo are here. FX’s lineup will introduce us to fresh stories as medieval epic The Bastard Executioner debuts and both Hotel and Fargo add new installments to their respective anthology series.

First up will be the two-hour premiere of the 10-episode first season of Kurt Sutter’s The Bastard Executioner on Tuesday, Sept. 15 at 10/9 c. Set in the 14th century, the story will follow Wilkin Brattle (Lee Jones), a warrior who becomes — you guessed it — an executioner. The cast also includes FX’s Sons of Anarchy alum Katey Sagal, Stephen Moyer, and Flora Spencer-Longhurst, as well as uber-popular British pop singer Ed Sheeran in a recurring role.

Next to air will be American Horror Story: Hotel on Wednesday, Oct. 7, also at 10/9 c. The 13-episode 5th season will explore creepy chaos at a mysterious hotel. As usual, Hotel features an impressive cast, including Kathy Bates, Sarah Paulson, Angela Bassett, Wes Bentley, Matt Bomer, Chloë Sevigny, Denis O’Hare, Cheyenne Jackson, Evan Peters, Finn Wittrock, and even Lady Gaga as the hotel owner.

Fargo’s next installment comes shortly thereafter, airing on Monday, Oct. 12 at 10/9 c. The 10-episode second season of the Noah Hawley-created series will remain in the Fargo universe we know and love, yet bring us back to the ’70s. A younger Lou Solverson (Patrick Wilson) will investigate what turns out to be a huge crime problem in his small area of the Midwest. Kirsten Dunst, Jesse Plemons, and Ted Danson also star.

The era of Peak TV was also Peak Netflix, because the streamer seemingly had an endless supply of new original series. So far in 2024, that hasn't been the case.
